Michelle Marly is a pseudonym. It goes back to my real first name and to the place Marly-le-Roi west of Paris. Father and son Alexandre Dumas once lived there and I thought it was nice to be called the adopted home of the authors of "The Three Musketeers" and "The Lady of the Camellias". I was allowed to live in Paris for a few years and have kept France in my heart, even though I now live in Berlin and Munich. I grew up in Hamburg in an artist household, the world of music and film was very close to me, but also that of fashion. I got my first spurs as a reporter and worked as an editor for various magazines for a long time. Now I work exclusively as a writer. Under my "real" name Micaela Jary, I mainly write family sagas for Goldmann Verlag.
Michelle Marly is the German bestselling author Micaela Jary, who grew up in the world of cinema and music. Through her father, the composer Michael Jary, she discovered her passion for French chansons at an early age. She lived in Paris for a long time, today she lives with her husband and dog in Berlin and Munich, she is the mother of a grown daughter and the happy grandmother of two grandchildren.
